Recently we’ve uploaded QtADB sources to sourceforge.net. If you are familiar with android and Qt then you can help improving QtADB and make it even better. There are still some great ideas which could be included.
SF.net project website: sf.net/p/qtadb
We’re waiting for new developers who will help us improving QtADB so it remain the best android manager!
today I uploaded source code to my site. You can download it right here: QtADB source code it is under Apache license. Remember to download QtADB only from this site to prevent security problems. If You want to help developing QtADB contact me via email ( email@example.com ).
sorry for such a delay 😉 QtADB 0.8.1 has a lot of fixes, improvements and others but I can’t remember what was fixed. there are some features that You requested but not everything. I choosed Apache licence for my source code and I’ve made all files headers with it. now the only thing left is to choose some source provider (sourceforge I think) but I need some more time to check it out and figure out how it works. If someone want to help me with this please be welcome to contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org;)
as You can see there is Serbian lang inside (thank You Bojan)
ps.OSX version is not available yet. Unfortunately I have some problems with this system(some freezes)
new version is as always available on download page
sorry for such a delay but recently I don’t have much spare time. I’ve launched wordpress site on our server and support forum. Now I want to release 0.8.1 version with Serbian language and some fixes/upgrades and of course upload sources (on sourceforge I think). I hope I will be manage to do it in the next week
recently I don’t have much spare time but finally I have finished website, forum and bought server. The last one thing is to pick a licence. I’m thinking about LGPL but I have no time to read about advantages and disadvantages of this licence. If someone has some experience with OpenSource projects please contact me on email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
I would like to tell you a little bit of app i created lately. It is myDialer – a substitute of dialer. It shows contacts and call history on one list. You can search for contacts using 12 key keyboard – it can search by name or by number.
It is made to be simple and fast – without unnecessary permissions and settings 🙂
You can find it on market – https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mozarcik.dialer&hl=en
It’s 7 days trial and you can buy (click here) an unlock key on paypal for 1.50€ ~ $2.20
Discussion about app:
Couple posts earlier (https://qtadb.wordpress.com/2011/03/08/qtadb-will-be-open-source/) I wrote about opening source and things that I want to finish before this operation. I would like to say that points I’ve mentioned in that post will be milestones for open source developement. So…the only two things I have to do now is to finish website (almost done) and launch forum (I’m testing some forums now). Recently I’ve noticed a lot of websites with google account logging… If someone know where I can find some free php forum with this feature it would be awesome;)
If You like QtADB and want it to develop faster please consider donation that I could buy some server for website and forum. We already have some money on paypal (big thanks to our donators) but it is still not enough to buy server for a whole year…
To encourage You for donation I will list selected advantages that You can expect after opening QtADB:
- open source project will be developing much faster, because more people will work on it,
- we want to support all possible recoverys. now it is full support for AmonRA and nandroid only,
- we want to make sd-ext backup mechanism,
- we want to upgrade messages panel and add some new features to it (like backup, removing etc),
- we want to make contats manager (add, remove, backup, import, export etc),
- we want to support WindowsPhone7 devices,
- we want to make QtADB work without Android SDK (adb and aapt binary). We’ve made some tests with direct communication and all shell operations were even 5 times faster!
These are only selected ideas that we have. We are continuously receiving ideas from our users so if QtADB will be open source and some developers will join us it will be one great software;)
